Most email setup problems are caused by one of a few common mistakes:
- Using the wrong incoming or outgoing server name
- Using the wrong ports or encryption settings
- Leaving SMTP authentication disabled
- Using the full email address in one field and only the mailbox name in another when the application expects one format consistently
- Typing the password incorrectly
- Trying to connect from an IP address that has been blocked after repeated failed login attempts
Before raising a support request, review all settings carefully and compare them with the official settings for the mailbox.
